Percy sat on one of the training area's benches, dripping with sweat. The Romans seemed to like their soldiers how they liked their drums: beat. Not that the Romans played drums, or anything. Oh, just forget it. Jason stomped over to Percy, his eyebrows scrunched together. Percy looked up from cleaning his sword.
"Hey, man. You okay?" Percy asked him.
Jason sighed softly. "I just don't know what I'm going to do."
He gave one of his trademark confused looks. "About what?"
Grinning weakly, the son of Jupiter answered, "The girls."
"Oh, duh," Percy said, shaking his head at himself.
The dinner bell sounded. Two gongs went off, which meant ten minutes till dinner. Percy capped Riptide and quickly took off the rest of his armor. He and Jason started walking over towards the mess hall. The large, gray building filled with dinning tables was empty. Since Lupa wasn't there yet, the two camp leaders both sat at the Poseidon table.
"I never thought I'd have to choose between two girls like this," Jason said. "Like, two girls would actually want to be my girlfriend."
Percy laughed. "I know what you mean."
Jason looked confused for a second before realizing what Percy meant. "Oh, yeah, that's right. Annabeth and Rachel both liked you," Jason mused. "I forgot that you were in the same situation."
"Well, sort of. I mean, all the Aphrodite campers probably like to think it was some huge decision I had to make."
Jason nodded, a smirk on his face.
"Sure, Rachel was cute and fun hang out or whatever, but I never really liked her like that," Percy admitted, blushing softly. "Annabeth just gets really jealous--" A fond smile crossed his face. "--And I did hang out with Rachel a lot, but that's just because I wanted to talk to someone who wasn't involved in the war. So, there never was any competition, like, at all. I've liked Annabeth since we were about fourteen. It just took me I while to get my act together, I guess."
"I'll bet Annabeth would love to know that." Jason grinned.
"Yeaaahhhh…" Percy trailed off, finally noticing the pair of foot prints next to his feet. He swatted his hands out in front of him, before feeling a pair of arms. A bemused look crossed his face. His hands moved from shoulders, hair—long, curly—head, and finally a hat.
"Oh, gods," he muttered, his face beat red.
"Uh, what are you doing?" Jason asked.
Percy took the hat off the head, revealing a blushing Annabeth.
"I—uh, um…you—wha…" Percy stuttered. His face had turned an even darker shade of red, if that was possible.
Annabeth smirked at his expression, before slipping her arms around his neck.
"I liked you, too, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth said, a slightly shy smile on her face.
"Oh, um—I-I…uh," Percy was still at a loss for words. Annabeth laughed softly, giving him a passionate kiss. Percy responded eagerly, lacing his fingers through her hair. The couple continued kissing for the next twelve minutes.
Neither Annabeth or Percy could look Jason in the eye for the next week.

Distractions
She couldn’t concentrate. Images flashed before her eyes in rapid succession, cutting off abruptly when she mentally berated herself. They’d cease for a moment as she redirected her attention to her book, but her ADHD brain soon filled with unwanted memories once again.
Mostly it was just colors—red and black, glowing eyes and darkness—but it was also sounds. Screams and roars, growls so vivid it was like the monsters were here in the room with her. Surprisingly, though, Annabeth wasn’t afraid.
She and Percy had been out of Tartarus for nearly eight months, and gradually, through the use of distractions

Selfless
Percy didn't know what it was, obviously. He couldn't see it.
But from what he could tell, it was about twenty feet long, vaguely snakelike, with ten or more glowing red eyes, and at least six arms. It was slow, which was good because it had been slithering after him and Annabeth for the past three days. Now that they were at the Doors, though, it had finally caught up.
And all the other monsters that had been chasing them were catching up, too. Percy was glad he couldn't see most of them, but even in the dim light of his sword, what he saw made him wonder if he'd ever be sane again. A large part of him wished he were dead.
Then ther

You and I know what it's like
To be kicked down, forced to fight
But tonight, we're alive
So hold up your lights. Let it shine.
'Cause this one's for you and me,
living out our dreams. We are right where we should be.
With my arms out wide, I open my eyes
And now all I want to see is a sky full of lighters.
Percy
I stood by the shore of the Sound and watched as campers partied and danced, counting down the minutes to New Year's. It was nice and all, but I couldn't get into it. For some reason (go figure), surviving another year seemed like a miracle, and a huge, blowout celeb

Ba--dum--chhhh! Hope you liked the ending. And the terrible joke at the beginning. I figured there's no point in coming up with something clever--Percy's jokes are always like that one.
